We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:
Tracking Technologies and Advertising. We do not use cookies. We do not use advertising on our websites or App.
Promotional Offers from the Company. We do not use email for promotions. Initial invitations to The Colony are sent via email, followed by one subsequent reminder to sign up. We may send companies news via email once or at most twice a year. If you do not wish to have your email address/contact information used by the Company by sending us an email stating your request to contact@opencolony.com. If we have sent you an email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions. This opt out does not apply to information provided to the Company as a result of a product purchase, warranty registration, product service experience or other transactions.
We do not share your information with third party marketers. However, the State of California has established its own unique regulations that apply to California residents. If you reside in California, you have the right to obtain from us, once per year and free of charge, information regarding what information we disclose to third party marketers, and the names and addresses of each third party to whom we disclose your data. We do not allow the posting of data publicly on our websites or in our App. However, if you are a California resident and under the age of 18, you have the right to request that we remove any data that you publicly post on our website. To request removal of your data, please use the contact information listed at the end of this Privacy Policy. Note that while we will remove your data that is publicly posted on our website, we may not be able to completely remove that data from our systems.
There are no account logins on our websites. The Colony membership is by invitation only and currently we gather email only for Colony account login. Any information you share via interviews, consulting, careers, or coaching is kept confidential unless you agree to an anonymous or attributed post of an insight or interview inside the Colony App. You may also send us an email at contact@opencolony.com to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
If you delete your User Contributions from the Colony App, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Website users. Proper access and use of information provided on the Website, including User Contributions, is governed by our Terms of Use.
This Website, and the servers and parties which made this Website available on a global scale, are located within and operate within the United States. The internet laws of the United States and California govern any and all matters relating to this Website, including content, as well as the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as they apply to residents of the European Union.
Any information you choose to provide through our websites and App, including subscribing to a newsletter, opting-in to receive a free gift, or purchasing something will be transferred to the United States for processing. By collecting and using your personal data, We are acting as a data controller, meaning we determine what information is collected, how long it is stored, and what the Personal Information will be used for. We utilize a third-party company to act as a data processor, which stores information such as names and email addresses that make up our email list. To the best of our ability, we have researched and concluded that all third party data processors we use have advised us they are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations as well.
We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology.
